Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant / Front Desk Receptionist supports clinical and administrative functions to ensure smooth clinic operations and high-quality patient care. This role balances direct patient support with front-desk responsibilities, providing a welcoming and professional environment for all patients and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Take vital signs and room patients for providers.
Update and maintain medical records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Perform point-of-care tests, such as glucose, strep, and urinalysis.
Assist providers with exams and minor procedures.
Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars.
Greet patients, check them in/out, and ensure a positive experience.
Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information professionally.
Verify insurance coverage, collect co-pays, and process necessary paperwork.
Qualifications:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred, but not required.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Experience in a clinical or front-desk healthcare setting is preferred.
Phlebotomy experience is a plus.
Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
