Position Summary:
The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for the collection of various sample types, with phlebotomy as the primary method. Staff provide patients with instructions for collections including urinalysis, stool, and other specimens. Additionally, the Laboratory Assistant assists with cardiac procedures such as EKGs, Holter monitors, and Event Monitor placement.

At the core of this role is the ability to put patients at ease, providing a safe, warm, and professional experience for patients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform phlebotomy for patients of all ages, following safety and infection control protocols.

• Provide instructions and support for other sample collections (urinalysis, stool, etc.).

• Assist with cardiac procedures, including EKGs, Holter, and Event Monitor placement.

• Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with clinic and laboratory standards.

• Ensure a safe, comfortable, and professional experience for all patients.

• Collaborate with providers and clinic staff to support high-quality patient care.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1–2 years of experience performing phlebotomy.

• Experience working with pediatric and elderly patients.

• Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• Licensure or certification from an accredited phlebotomy program.
